50 Years of Computer Science at RWTH Aachen University

 

Celebration week in September

In 1972, the first Computer Science students were enrolled at RWTH Aachen University. This gives us reason to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Computer Science at RWTH Aachen University. The main activities will take place during

the week of September 5th to 10th, 2022.

There will be a company fair and a grand anniversary celebration on Friday, September 9th, and a kind of extended CS summer festival with a graduate ceremony, a concert, good food, and a party. (The event will replace the regular summer festival and „Tag der Informatik“.) But also during the earlier days of the week, there will be talks, hackathons and other interesting activities. Please save the date.

Logo and slogan competition

To make the anniversary more visible to the public, we would like to use a logo and a slogan expressing the success and importance of Computer science to the university and the society. We encourage suggestions from all members of the department of Computer Science. Please send your ideas before

March 25th, 2022,

to pfannschmidt@embedded.rwth-aachen.de. The winning logo and slogan will be selected by the 50th anniversary organization committee. The winner will receive a surprise gift and a VIP ticket to the grand anniversary celebration on Friday, September 9th. We are looking forward to your suggestions.
