Digital Manufacturing at the Ball der Wirtschaft
Spin-off “Laserkatze” with the Chair of Media Informatics and Human-Computer Interaction at RWTH Aachen University on site
This year's Ball der Wirtschaft took place in the production hall of Talbot Services GmbH. This is where trains are maintained and rail vehicles are manufactured: An ideal location to bring laser cutting and digital manufacturing to business decision makers. In cooperation with the IHK Wirtschaftsjunioren, the Start-Up Laserkatze and the chair of Professor Borchers for Media Informatics and Human-Computer Interaction at RWTH Aachen University, guests were able to experience a laser cutter live in operation. During the ball, participants were able to have design items individualized and observe how laser cutting produces unforgettable glass coasters from semi-finished products.
Not only the guests had a wonderful evening, also the founding team – the Stönner siblings – were pleased about interested discussions about digital manufacturing and possible applications of this kind of production in the economy.
