As part of the lecture and discussion series “Artificial Intelligence and International Security: Quo vadis?”, Prof. Gerhard Lakemeyer, head of the Knowledge-Based Systems Group of RWTH Aachen University, will examine the risks and chances of artificial intelligence.

While autonomous systems allow various possible applications for the good of society, there is also the potential to develop fully autonomous weapon systems. Natural sciences and technology can influence international security and peace in various ways. This series of events, organized as part of RWTHextern and sponsored by VolkswagenStiftung, aims to shed a light on upcoming questions in the fields of technology, ethics of science, and security politics.
