FAQ

What are the library access rules?

The library can be used by all students and employees of RWTH Aachen University as well as by external interested parties.

Can I borrow media?

We are a reference library. Therefore, borrowing media is only possible to a limited extent. Books can be borrowed one hour before the library closes. The loan period ends at 10 a.m. on the next opening day. Students and employees of RWTH Aachen University can only borrow Media.

How do I drop off a copy of my dissertation?

You can arrange a deadline by e-mail () or send the dissertation to us by regular mail.

Please enclose a short letter with your email address and telephone number so that we can contact you if we have any questions. We are pleased to send the " Certificate of Submission" directly to the doctoral office. If you wish to do so, please let us know.

Are there literature research training sessions?

We offer literature research training sessions for participants in pro-seminars. Dates will be announced during the pro-seminar.

If you are not attending a pro-seminar and are interested in literature review training, contact us by email ().

Can I come to the library to study?

Yes, you can come to the library to study.

What study spaces are available?

All rooms in the library can be used. The children's room is primarily available to students with children, but can also be used by all other students when it is not being used by parents with children. Room 4007 (Training room II) is temporarily reserved for training in literature research. Please follow the corresponding instructions and leave the room in time.

How long can I use the learning space?

You can use the learning space during the complete opening hours - leaving the place for a short break is allowed. If you leave the library for more than 45 minutes, you must vacate your study space.

Can I choose a seat?

You can choose a free seat. Please note that moving tables and chairs is not allowed.
