Dienstag, 13.06.2017, 15.30 Uhr
Ort: Raum 5054, Ahornstr. 55
Referent: Dr. Robert Henschel, Indiana University, USA
Abstract:
This talk will show how the IT department of Indiana University (IU) is supporting research on electronic protected health information (ePHI). Robert Henschel, Director of Science Community Tools, will talk about the approaches that IU has taken to enable researchers from the IU School of Medicine to utilize high performance computing infrastructure for their research. The presentation will focus on the IT needs of researchers that handle ePHI data and how those needs are met using centrally provided high performance computing and storage infrastructure. IU was among the first universities in the USA to fully align their HPC infrastructure with the HIPAA requirements and is now utilizing this infrastructure to support the IT needs of the newly awarded $120 million Precision Health Initiative grand challenge project.
