To attract and retain the brightest minds and foster diversity: RWTH's recruitment strategy aims to sustainably recruit excellent researchers and thus to enhance the international competitiveness of the University. The strategy places special emphasis on promoting gender equality and internationalization.
International HR Marketing
Top-level research is fuelled by the brightest minds. For this reason, in the global competition for talent, it is essential for RWTH Aachen to be in a position to attract and retain outstanding international researchers for leading positions. International human resources marketing contributes to making RWTH Aachen internationally visible as a significant research university and attractive employer. It seeks to make sure that research talents worldwide are aware of the advantages of a university career in Aachen.
Supporting the Proactive Recruitment of Female Professors
Excellent science requires diversity: increasing the proportion of women in science results in a larger talent pool and a diversity of research perspectives, thus securing high-quality science and research at RWTH Aachen. First and foremost, the proactive search for female researchers is to address the underrepresentation of female researchers at the professorial level. We aim at identifying suitable candidates for open positions and thus support the appointment commission in their proactive search for highly qualified female researchers.
A comprehensive program of services supports newly appointed professors in their first months at RWTH Aachen. The Welcome Service provides new professors with a personalized support services package and puts them in touch with competent advisors from the different service divisions. Furthermore, they and their families receive assistance in settling in to life in Aachen. The Welcome Center for International Reseachers' extensive services contribute to successfully integrating and acculturating new international professors and researchers from abroad into the University and life in Aachen.
