The area of specialisation "data bases and data mining" deals with current topics in data management and data mining which arise in data base systems and information systems. Our focus is on successful completion of data mining tasks, development of multidimensional access methods, algorithms for multistep query processing, and geometric and structural approximation techniques.
We offer seminars in "complex objects in data bases", "current topics in data mining", and a practical course in "data mining algorithms" as well as the courses listed below on a regular basis.
